Divorțul dintre FSC și Scweighofer a fost oficializat astăzi Schweighofer a pierdut certificatul FSC
Totul a început acum 2 ani când Agent Green a expus tăierlie ilegale de păduri virgine din Parcul Național Retezat efectuate de o firma certificată FSC care a transportat arborii tăiați la fabrica Holzindustrie Schweighofer. Vezi video:

Acest caz, precum și cele semnalate ulterior de Agent Green și de alte organizații (EIA,Rise Project, WWF Germania, De-clic) care s-au alăturat treptat campaniei, a fost atent analizat de comisia FSC care a intervievat Agent Green și a decis astăzi să se disocieze de Holzindustrie Schweighofer.
Practic. această decizie înseamnă că produsele Schweighofer nu mai pot fi etichetate cu sigla FSC. Este posibil ca mulți clienți ai Schweighofer care preferă produse etichetate FSC să își anuleze contractele.
Agent Green atrage atenția că problemele identificate la Schweighofer legate de respectarea standardului FSC sunt valabile pentru întreg lanțul de producție din România. Multe certificări sunt acordate abuziv, iar inspecțiile sunt deosebit de superficiale.
FSC tolerează exploatări în parcuri naționale, chiar tăieri la ras și nu poate preveni tăierile din pădurile virgine.

FSC and Holzindustrie Schweighofer broke up today. The divorce was today made official. Schweighofer lost its certificates.
Everything started 2 years ago when Agent Green published this investigation showing that illegally cut virgin forest in Retezat National Park by a FSC certified logging company ended at Holzindustrie Schweighofer sawmill in Sebeș. See investigation video here:

This case together with further ones and those submitted by other NGOs that joined the campaign ( Environmental Investigation Agency US, RISE Project, WWF Deutschland and de-clic.ro) were carefully analyzed by FSC that conducted detailed interviews and today decided to disassociate from Schweighofer.
This decision means that Schweighofer may no longer label their products with the FSC logo. This may lead to some customers of Schweighofer to stop buying and / or reselling their products.
Agent Green raises attention that the problems identified at Schweighofer are valid for the entire chain of custody in Romania. In many cases, the certificates are granted in an abusive manner while the inspections are too poor.
FSC tolerates logging in national parks, cannot prevent destruction of virgin forests and allows clear cuts.
